What Those Who Present to Male Audiences Can Learn From The NFL RedZone Channel

First, for those who don’t know what the NFL RedZone Channel is, let me explain.  This is from their Web site http://redzonetv.nfl.com/about/.

“NFL RedZone, produced by NFL Network, whips around every NFL game on Sunday afternoons delivering the touchdowns and most exciting moments as they happen and in high definition. When a team goes inside the 20-yard line, NFL RedZone takes fans there. The channel keeps fans up-to-date in real time, switching from game to game with live look-ins, highlights and a chance to see the key plays.”

If you present to or write to male audiences, it is critical to understand that in general men just want the bottom line.  They are interested in the most important information.  Action captures and holds their attention.  To use an American football analogy, they are interested in what happens in the “red zone”, the field of play within the 20-yard line.  What happens in the other 80 yards is of limited interest to them.

Presentations and proposals to male audiences must be more streamlined, action-packed, and bottom-line.  Male audiences are usually not interested in too many process details or the lead-up.  That bores them.  That boredom with the process and the lead-up is why the concept of The NFL RedZone Channel is so appealing to American male audiences.

Tailor your presentations and proposals to male audiences in a similar fashion, and you will become more persuasive to this demographic group.
