UFood Restaurant Group Closes Salt Lake City Restaurant
UFood Restaurant Group, Inc. (OTCBB: UFFC) announced today that its Salt Lake City franchisee has terminated the operation of the UFood Grill Restaurant in the city, as a casualty of the recession.
George Naddaff, the Company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated, “We are disappointed that the recession is significantly reducing the number and size of consumer transactions that were at such high levels just a short time ago. Certain areas of the country have experienced severe declines in consumer traffic, which penalizes any style restaurant. Our success with nontraditional restaurant locations that include airports and hospitals are representing a compelling business model for our food concept. We remain persistent in being innovative in developing new menu items and price points that will continue to drive the consumer to our restaurants. While the times are difficult, we are encouraged how we are positioned to expand our concept of providing affordable, convenient, quick-service restaurants offering delicious food choices that are ‘better-for-you.’”
